Overall
Name:
Jervis Tetch
Code Name:
The Mad Hatter
Gender:
Male
Age:
36
Birth Date:
18/10
Affiliation:
Villain
Age Looks:/b]
35-ish
Appearance:
Jervis is a thin man with an unhealthy complexion. He stands at 4.8 feet in hight, weighing around the 149 lbs. His skin is pale and Jervis has black rings under his eyes, a proof of how little or bad he sleeps. His hair is brown and messy, and his body is thin without being skinny, but in no way muscular as he doesn’t really exercise. He dresses as seen on the picture, ragged and stitched together clothes, keeping the colour of all his clothes green and brown with the occasional blue and orange as well as white gloves missing the tip of the fingers.
Personality:
Jervis is quite the complicated case. He is obviously a classic delusional displaying paranoid schizophrenia as well as obsessive-compulsions. He believes that he is the true-life incarnation of the Mad Hatter from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and holds a strong obsession with 'Alice', who he will almost always actively search for or, perhaps, prepare for her arrival. It should be noted that Jervis will always be unsure, when meeting someone of the opposite sex, if the person he is meeting is Alice or not. Also, there has been many, many 'Alice's' by now, and very few have survived Jervis "affection", and those that have are rarely heard from, ending up in slavery somewhere in third and second world countries. Due to his alternating behavior, it can be very hard to converse with Jervis or get him to assist someone when he is in his more panicking state, while it is much easier to converse or work together with him when he is calm.
Jervis is rather easy to manipulate if his obsessions are used against him. If he believes someone withholds 'Alice' from him he can turn desperate, but unless addressed and/or treated aggressively, will be more desperate and panicky than hostile. Also, he has, like his namesake the Hatter, an obsession with hats of all kinds, the one he always wears being his favorite. He can handle loosing any of his hats if it's, for example, in a fight since he knows he can pick it up again, but if his hats are withhold from him he will turn panicky and desperate, and several doctors have concluded that it is completely impossible to work with Jervis if he is forced to bare his head.
Background Info
Family:
None alive.
Background:
Tetch, while growing up, never had any friends due to his appearance. His whole life he had been in love with the works of Lewis Caroll “Alice in Wonderland” and “Through he Looking Glass” especially the “Mad Tea Party” chapter. In adulthood Jervis became a neural scientist working for Wayne Enterprises where he invented circuitry that could control minds. Jervis lived in a boarding house owned by a woman named Ella Littleton. There he befriended Ella's daughter, Connie Littleton, and her friends in her high school. A few years later, Connie became pregnant and fearing the reaction of her extremely strict mother, Connie lied to her and claimed she had been raped by someone on her school's baseball team. Ella approached Tetch for help and convinced him that the Gotham Hawks were "bad kids". Tetch agreed to use his mind-control technology on a member of the team, making him use a pipe bomb to kill the other players. Although this was Tetch's first known criminal act, his involvement in the locker room bombing would not be discovered until years later.
At some point after this, Jervis finally lost his mind, an event that had been underway for quite a while, and becoming obsessive, delusional and schizophrenic, he went to crime, modeling himself after The Mad Hatter, his most loved character from his beloved “Alice in Wonderland”, wielding his vast genius and mind control Tech. He started kidnapping young girls to be “Alice” in his tea parties before selling them to slavery or outright killing them, but he was stopped by Batman and arrested many times. The courts found Jervis insane each time and sent him to Arkham Asylum.
Despite Jervis's kind facade he is one of the asylums most dangerous inmates, acting pleasant at one moment and then homicidal the other. Jervis, in attempts to make friends, will be kind to the other inmates, like sneaking a pet plant to Poison Ivy. Like the other rogues, Tetch have managed to escape Arkham on numerous occasions.
Along with Wonderland and controlling people's minds, Tetch quickly became obsessed with headgear when he went insane and want above all else to attain for his extensive collection of hats Batman's cowl by any means necessary.

Sample RP:
“Another girl kidnapped! A week ago a female in her early twenties, a brunette named Jessica Landon disappeared from her apartment without a trace. The Police have so far been unable to find any clues as to Jessica’s whereabouts, in their own words; “There is no trace of breaking and entry, meaning that Jessica left willingly or someone had a key, but the lack of signs of struggle suggests that she left of her own free will or was forced in such a way that she did not resist.” As to why the police suspects abduction, several friends and family of miss Landon have reported repeated neglect of appointments from the young woman. So far, the police have nothing to go by and urges anyone with information regarding miss Landon’s whereabouts to step forward.”
The man read aloud from the main article of the newspaper in his hands. He then sighed and placed the paper on the table before he lifted his cup, enjoying a sip of his tea. “You know dear Alice, it’s dreadful with all these abductions..I mean, how is good, upstanding citizens like you and I suppose to feel safe? You’d think we would be safe from this kind of things these days with all these heroes around, all clad in spandex and capes...but perhaps a hero...well, is nothing more than a circus ape?..” The Small man then looked at the young woman from across the table they were sitting by, smiling lovingly.
“You should really try the tea, dear Alice. I mean, it IS after all, my special tea..my special tea..my special tea...my..specialty..” The man chuckled merrily as he took another sip of his tea before he spoke once more “But don’t worry, I’ll protect you my dear Alice, I’ll never let them hurt you, not now nor ever. Not even Cheshire or that pompous caterpillar will touch you, NEVER!” as he yelled he jumped onto the table, stepping over one of the bodies lying across the table with empty yes. “I won’t make the same mistake again, this time, you won’t be hurt..Alice, I promise!” He knelt before the girl, smiling as he stroked her almond colored hair. “We’ll be together…now and forever...I promise my sweet Alice...” Jessica Landon merely smiled broadly, nodding softly at his words, her eyes empty and all will gone. Behind her, a door to another room stood ajar and a bloody hand could be spotted. If one were to visit this place, one would have to ask oneself, like all the poor people who had come by this place by accident, like all them, you'd have to ask yourself “When you follow the white rabbit and he tell you to take a look down his rabbit hole.. Then, do you really want to know what is on the other side of the looking glass?”
