2 weeks and 3 days after the half year mark
It was grey outside, the sky threatening to break out to rain and thunder, and have been doing so for a while. It was late afternoon, and people rushing home, or in Alice's case to the bank, being dragged along by her family. Her father, mother, sisters and brothers were all there, waiting to get to the front of the line, and get sorted out something about their accounts, and something else she hadn't caught. Alice had just tagged along quietly, smiling as her brothers fought each other and her sisters argued over which guy was the most handsome. Her smaller sisters was acting up, as they didn't want to be in the bank, finding it boring and painfully slow at getting on.
Alice didn't have any big thought on this trip, and just worked on seeming interested in the noise that her family made and the fun they posted. In reality Alice was empty inside, she had no feelings about any of it, and dwelled in the emptiness in her soul. She was like a doll, hollow inside but beautiful on the outside. And Alice was quite beautiful, but so was her other family members. It was a odd trade in her family.
The rest of the people in the bank was a lot more quiet, and stared at her family, no surprise as to why. It really looked like a small kind of circus, with two adults trying to coordinate the eight kids, that obviously wanted to do a lot of other things that being here. Some would have thought that it would have been best for the family to keep these wilds pups at home before someone went crazy.
A tiny chuckle left the pale lips of Alice, and she shook her head. She really had an odd family. With that thought, she put the black knitted hat on her head, keeping a trace on her wild running dark brown curly hair, and corrected the pale blue cardigan and rubbed her hands on the tight black pants.

Everything was more or less stable at the bank, so nice, so normal. Poor fools, they had no idea what was going to happen very soon, the situation they were going to be in. It was almost comical, if it wasn't so pathetic. Ah well, they had to learn at some point, besides, he needed the money, his dear dear Alice needed a proper welcome, and the money from the bank was going to finance that. Thus, the small, scrawny man dressed in Top hat and stitched up clothes entered the bank. The first guard didn't recognize him before the mind control card was placed in his hat, the second too shocked to react before he fell under sway too. The third and Fourth reacted, but one was shot in the leg by his hypnotized friend and the last was under Hatter's sway quickly enough. The Mad Hatter giggled as he looked around, and spoke. “Ladies, friends, men and hen, you no wonder have much speculation, so let me be clear, this is a hostage situation!” He stated as he placed another card behind the ear of one of the worried guests of the Bank, making him pick up the guard who was shot's gun.
The Hatter kept giggling and humming to himself as he walked around, placing his cards behind the ears and in the hats of different people of the bank, Openly singing now as he pointed at the vaults, making his new minions start emptying them once he had made the manager open them of course.
“Matilda Jane, you never look At any toy or picture-book. I show you pretty things in vain You must be blind, Matilda Jane!
I ask you riddles, tell you tales, But all our conversation fails. You never answer me again I fear you're dumb, Matilda Jane!
Matilda darling, when I call, You never seem to hear at all. I shout with all my might and main But you're so deaf, Matilda Jane!”
Oh, Alice would love this song, all the little rabbits were behaving so nicely as well! Getting the money ready, how wonderful! Jervis couldn't help himself as he danced around. And then, he suddenly stopped dead in his tracks as he looked around. Had he seen her around here? Noo..she wouldn't be here, would she? As he stood there, pondering, looking around, the mandman actually seemed almost approachable.

The turmoil made by the Little family ended quickly, the moment the loud sound of a gun being fired, screamed through the bank. Everyone's attention turned towards the small man, who started dancing through the bank. Her two brothers and her father, quietly pushed the rest of the family behind them. Sure, it saved her and her sisters from becoming his puppet, but not her brother Christopher.
Alice tried gripping onto her brother, but though she gripped tightly to the end of his sweater, she had to let go. Joshua tried stopping him too, but nothing was going to stop him. Not long after that, Joshua found himself just as thoughtless, and then went her oldest sister. Moving forward, with no will left.
She stared at her family, panic in their eyes as their beloved members suddenly stood in danger. Her bright blue eyes turned to the little green man, stepping out from behind her sisters. Her heart for once pounded loudly in her chest, and her legs felt wobbly. Perhaps she was scared, or excited, she wasn't really sure. She just knew that she felt the need to safe her brothers.
Her eyes were stiffly fixated on him as she slowly approached, curling her dark hair under the hat.
"Matilda Jane...." she paused "Matilda Jane, you needn't mind.... For, though you're deaf, and dumb, and blind, There's some one loves you, it is plain And that is me, Matilda Jane" she quietly said, hoping to catch the attention of the guy, her hearts beating even faster, unsure as to how he would react. Messing with a madman's perspective of reality was dangerous, that she knew, but she felt a need to.... to do something?
"H-Hatter... is that you?"

His ears almost twitched as he heard the quiet end to the poem. What? No! Why? How? No? It couldn't be? Could it? Was she really? Nooo..not yet..or..perhaps? Hatter seemed to be very much in doubt as he slowly turned around, the rabbits around him seemingly fading out of existance as he focused on the woman before him. His eyes almost widened as he studied her dark hair and beautiful eyes. She really was beautiful..was she really?..could she really be?
“A..Alice..?”
He asked, slowly walking towards her one hand outreached, several people gasping, but no one daring to intervene. “Alice..is that you? Are you really here? But, what are you doing here? The tea-party isn't ready and the rabbits are not done and Alice is that you?” He asked as he closed in on her, one hand soon gently touching her cheek. as he looked into her eyes, his own wide with wonder and amazement. "Can it be, I wonder why, is it real, Is it really true, Alice, is it really you?" He asked her as he studied her face, the mad man so confused and uncertain, it looked like her but the hair was wrong but the eyes were right and look at that little pretty mouth and she knew the words but her hair was wrong but her eyes her voice and face was right was it really Alice could it be should it be did it have to be was it actually Alice? He had to make sure.
"A boat, beneath a sunny sky Lingering onward dreamily In an evening of July
Children three that nestle near, Eager eye and willing ear, Pleased a simple tale to hear
Long has paled that sunny sky; Echoes fade and memories die; Autumn frosts have slain July.
Still she haunts me, phantomwise, Alice moving under skies Never seen by waking eyes.."
Hatter said as he kept caressing her cheek so tenderly, gently and softly, his eyes looking at her with wonder and curiosity, uncertainty and eagerness. He was unsure, but so eager at the possibility that he was totally and completely ignoring his mindless minions who was still gathering money and keeping an eye on the hostages. Hatter didn't care, he might have found Alice, and then nothing else mattered. Nothing in the world.

Her family tried holding onto Alice, but she slipped out of their grasp. "Alice..." her mother whispered, but Alice ignored her, and continued towards the man, only a little smaller than her. She could see that she had caught the Hatters attention, and the moment he looked at her, her heart started beating faster.
As he said her name she nodded a little, and stepped a few steps closer, before slowly sitting down on the floor. A gentle smile twisted the corners of her lips. His hand touched her cheek, and she smiled even more. "Of course it's me Hatter" She replied in a gentle voice, trying to swipe away his uncertainty.
"Children yet, the tale to hear, Eager eye and willing ear, Lovingly shall nestle near.
In a Wonderland they lie, Dreaming as the days go by, Dreaming as the summers die;
Ever drifting down the stream Lingering in the golden gleam Life, what is it but a dream?"
She continued the poem with full confidence, gently placing a hand on top of the Hatters. She hoped that this would make him believe, and save her family members from harm.
"I am sorry that I have been gone so long, but I couldn't find my way back to Wonderland, but I seemed to have turned up here now" She smiled apologetic and gently leaning her head against his hand, realising that he was starring at her hair. Of course! She was an idiot! Alice was blonde, not a dark brown! She pulled her hat further down, trying to cover up the mahogany curled locks. "The Queen of Hearts painted my hair ..." she paused, and tried seeming ashamed about the fictive event. "...I really am Alice, Hatter"

Hatter looked at her, his eyes widening as she spoke the words..She knew the words and her face was right and the voice was right and her eyes were right and she knew the words and she understood and she touched him and she was right there and he had found his Alice! Mad Hatter started to smile, a wide and over-joyous smile. “Alice..” He said, his voice almost trembling as he looked at her with such adoration and praise that probably few men had ever looked at a woman with. His eyes then widened as he heard what she told him about the queen of hearts and her wrongdoings, coloring Alice's beautiful hair, that horrible woman!
“She didn't?! That horrible, nasty old woman...” Hatter said, his voice seething with rage, his entire frame trembling as he clenched his hands for a moment before the adoration and praising look in his eyes returned. “No matter, that old bat shall not hurt you anymore sweet Alice..don't you worry. We'll have tea parties and the rabbits will behave and join us and it'll be great and fun and we won't ever have to worry again and I found my Alice..” he trailed off, caressing her cheek again, that look of absolute love and adoration shining in his eyes. He then slowly stood, snapping his fingers, all the mind-controlled people standing to attention as Hatter looked at Alice. “Alice, come on, lets go, away from here and down the rabbit hole!” Hatter sang in a singsong voice as he took her hand, smiling widely.

Her eyes flickered between his, feeling weird inside. Almost pained with the adoration he displayed for her, knowing very well that she wasn't the Alice he looked for. However, it made her feel warm as she was caught in his gaze of absolute admiration. What took her breath away though, was the over whelmed way, in which he said her name. But as sudden as he had become happy, his feelings turned to anger. The very gesture of his anger made her eyebrows curl together, not in fear, but in sadness to see him like that.
She wanted to comfort him, but he suddenly became that warm bright shining sun again. However reality was cruel, and she knew very well that she couldn't just run away with him, even if it were to save the "rabbits"
"Hatter.." She said in a sad tone.
She wanted to continue the sentence, but the sound of sirens, suddenly snuck up around the bank. Her gaze snapped away from his, looking out the glass doors with worry in her eyes, before looking back at him, taking his hand between hers, caressing it gently.
"Hatter, we cannot take the rabbits with us, the Queens army will find us if we do" She said hasty, knowing she had little time left before the police would surround the whole place. "But Hatter.." She said to interrupt him "..You can get away, before they find you and imprison you. But they will chase you to the end of Wonderland if I am with you, and I cannot allow the queen of hearts to cut off your head" she placed both her hands on each side of his face, smiling ever so slightly. "Please listen to my plea, my heart cannot bare to lose you dear Hatter" she whispered so only he could hear.
Slowly she stood up, wrapping her arms around his shoulders, pressing her lips against his ear. "If you manage to escape... I will be waiting for you at Port Adams until dawn breaks, so please, save yourself from the terror of the Queen, please Hatter... For me" she whispered, and gently moved his hat, and kissed his forehead. "please"

At her tone Hatter looked at her, his eyes widening again, worry clear in his face. He looked at her, his whole world orbiting around her at this very moment, nothing else mattering, nothing at all. And she spoke in a sad tone! So very sad, which was so so very bad! He didn't even notice the sirens as the police cars headed towards the bank. No, Alice was so much more important, he had just found her. It was like in the rhyme, even if Hatter didn't realize it.
Still she haunts me, phantomwise, Alice moving under skies Never seen by waking eyes..
It really was like that, the poor man haunted forevermore. As she took his hand between hers he already started shaking his head quietly, soundless no's forming before she even spoke. As she started to speak his eyes started tear up as she talked about fleeing without her, continuesly shaking his head. “No..no..no..no..no..no..n-” As she placed her hands on either side You're loosing her again... of his face he turned quiet, simply listening to her, his trembling hands on Lost and gone forevermore.. her beautiful cheeks. It was like all those time that bat monster had come, taking his Alice from him..only this time, the Kill her..they cannot have her..never.. bat monster was the Queen of Hearts and her army. IT WASN'T FAIR!
Why did he have to loose her why did he have to loose her when he had just found her Quickly they cannot have her, that soft neck.... snap it like a twig.. And then he'd loose her again?! IT WASN'T FAIR!! Do it..do it now.. Hatter was trembling by now, his hands caressing her smooth, little neck. No, it wasn't fair at all, not at all, he didn't want to loose her YOU PATHETIC LITTLE THING, DO IT No-
And then the world turned quiet as she hugged him, her soft lips pressed to his ear as she spoke, pleaded with him, the flame of hope filling the Hatter like a sun. He then nodded quietly and stood, sending a mental order to his rabbits, all of then walking outside, standing in front of the door in two rows, blocking the entrance. He then kissed her hand and said in a quiet tone. "Until we meet again, dear Alice" and with that, he was out the back door, disappearing in the backstreet's of Gotham.

She let go of him, smiling sadly as he said goodbye and went out the door. Not long after he was gone, the bank became filled with police officers, seeing as none of the "rabbits" did anything. Alice just stood there, staring at the doors, where her Hatter had slipped away. She starred down at her hand, still wet from the tiny kiss. Carefully she pressed her hand against her chest, covering it with the other hand.
Her family threw themselves at Alice, asking questions, checking up on her, and she answered them with a smile, reassuring them that she was okay. In reality she once again felt empty inside. Like a part of her had disappeared together with the Hatter.
Luckily the police didn't hold her for too long, and everyone imprisoned by the Hatters mind control freed. She got around the press, and soon she found herself in the quietness of her room, starring out the window. Suddenly she got up, and managed to get out of her home, though under the observation of her elder brother Christopher. As expected however, nothing happened on the trip, other than her getting what she went shopping for.
The rest of the day and evening went by with bleaching her hair, until it was the perfect blonde, with no trace left of her prior dark colour. Her family wondered about this sudden change, but she managed to dismiss it. Night came, but her family stayed up longer than usual, she was afraid that they would never go to sleep at all, but eventually they went out, leaving her time to sneak down the fire stairs, with a bag over her shoulder.
The moment her feet hit the ground, she was running as fast as she could, hoping to get to the harbour before the Hatter might leave.
Darkness was her companion as she crossed the streets of Gotham, as the moon was choked behind the dark clouds. The darkness seemed to go on forever, but finally she saw the water in the horizon, that seemed mostly like the end of the reality, as it blurred into complete darkness. She slowed down, catching her breath, and leaned against one of the large concrete buildings. The bag hit the ground with a light *Thump*, but was only left unattended for a second, before she dug into it, pulling out the light blue dress and the white over knee socks.
After she had changed into her new outfit, she stuffed her other cloth into the bag and hid it behind some boxes. She pulled on the black boots, and but on the white pinafort look-a-like cloth peice she had found, before stepping out in the open space of the harbour, placing herself in the light of the street lamp. Her new pale blonde curly hair glistening slightly in the light, her dress slightly miscoloured by the the yellow stream, but still blue.
Her heart was pound like crazy, not just from the run. What if he wasn't here, what if he was here, but mad at her for turning up so late. Would she still be Alice or would he have forgotten her?
"Hatter...?" she asked with worry in her voice.

Hatter hurried through the alleys of Gotham, zigzagging and hiding, no one but the homeless noticing, none of them caring enough to bother him. He was going to see Alice again and she would be there and the Queen of Hearts would not find them and they were looking for him not her so she would be unharmed, wouldn't she? She would, or none could save the Queen from his wrath, OFF with HER head he say! That might actually be more useful than one would think, without her they could live in peace no they couldn't there was the bat mannered man and he wouldn't let them! Oh so many troubles and enemies and meanies and rabbits and clocks and he hoped Alice was alright...
Hatter soon reached the docks, even though there was a long time before it was night and she would arrive. For now he had to lay low, to hide and to remain hidden. He couldn't afford being caught, not when he had finally found Alice! It was horrible to think about, and worse to wait for the moon to appear and shine her tender light on his dear dear sweet Alice soft skin, that wonderful mouth and those smooth cheeks. Her tender gasp as he NO NO NO he needed to focus, he had to keep quiet and keep hidden, for Alice sake! And so, hidden he remained and hidden away he was, sleeping the day away inside a abandoned container no one would think to look in.
And as he slept, he dreamed of Wonderland and rabbits, of door-mouses and March hares, of tea parties and tea pots, of ravens and of writing desks. Alas, if one could see the dreams of the Hatter, why they would go raving mad themselves. But nightfall came and the Hatter awoke, stirring from his sleep he set out to patrol the dock to ensure he didn't miss his Alice, it was a big harbour after all. Meanwhile, two pairs of less than friendly eyes observed the young girl with hunger blazing from those mirrors to the soul. A pretty little thing like that, all alone here at the docks? Oh this wasn't going to end well. As she called out the two pier workers appeared from the darkness, wicked grins on their faces. “Sorry toots..ain't no hatter, but I sure got something for you anyway..” One said, the other grinning.
"Yeah..why don'cha com'ere so we can show you such a good timeh?” the other asked, reaching out he grabbed her by the wrist, laughing as the other grabbed her other wrist. “Ain't she a cutie? Struggling and all..don't worry doll, we'll be sure to clean up when we're done!” They both laughed at this as they looked at her with malice in their eyes. And that was when he saw them, the Hatter, just staring in the darkness for a moment, his insides and mind an inferno and whirlwind of things, colours and images best left not described. He then walked up to them and without a word buried the two packing hooks between their ribs, the two men screaming in surprise and pain as they fell. Hatter then placed two mind control devices on the men. He then said in a quiet voice. “Go, the two of you, and beat and beat each other until you cannot beat no more, then beat some more again.”
The two men, their eyes empty of will then got up, leaving behind the Hatter and his Alice. Hatter then turned around, smiling to her with tender eyes as he wrapped his arms around her. “Are you harmed? Did they hurt you my sweet Alice?” He asked, holding her before taking a single step back, standing at Arms length. “Y..your hair, you're back to normal, your beautiful normal self!” He exclaimed with a smile. “My sweet beloved Alice..I was so worried!”

It seemed that her very present had attracted unwanted predators. She knew that she should be scared, but the emotionless abyss inside her, left her with little to act on. It would be sad if this were to be the end of the adventure she had waited on, and destroy the chance for her to meet the Hatter. Her tiny feet managed to take a half step backwards, before her wrists became restrained by a tight grip. It felt bone crushing, and only became worse as she tried pulling her hands away. "Let go!" she sneered, and tried kicking one of the brutes, but had no winning result. "Don't you dare touch..." they suddenly screamed and let go of her. Her eyes stared widely at the two, but snapped away the second she saw the legs of a familiar being.
There he was. Her Hatter saving her at the neck of time, managing to overwhelm to guys to much bigger than him. She couldn't help but to stare at him, forgetting the very function of breathing, as she tried figuring if she should smile or cry in relief
"Hatter" It slipped from her breathless lips.
She wrapped her arms around him, holding him closely, and answered his question by shaking her head. "I'm okay" she whispered, and let him step back, but took a gentle hold on his hand, almost afraid that he would disappear if she didn't. However, her worried soul calmed, and she couldn't help but to smile warmly from his reaction to her hair. "Yes, I could not let my kind Hatter be confused by the evil deeds of the Queen of Hearts" she replied and chuckled in a happy relieved way. "I apologize for being late, I came here as fast as I could!" she exclaimed.
"Oh Hatter... How I missed you so much. I cannot be happy without having you near" Her arms tangled themselves around the Hatter, pressing him tightly against her, happy to see him again.

"No need to apologize sweet Alice..you came fast as your small legs could carry you, and that is what is most important" The Hatter said with a small smile on his face. She was there, right there, his Alice, safe and unharmed, back with him again! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! she was with him on this day! Hatter couldn't have been more happy, or so he thought. It turned out he was wrong though, her words turning his world into an explosion of bright colons and lights. She cannot be happy without him near? She cannot be Happy without him near! She missed him so much! she cannot be happy without having him near! And with those simple words it was as if Hatter straightened up despite standing straight already, his posture turning more open and somehow more powerful.
She missed him so much! She cannot be happy without having him near! Hatter felt his very spirit clench his own personal vorpal blade, Bring it on Batterwocky! Bring it on green and purple furred Cheshire cat! Bring it on fancy JubJub bird in your frozen nest and Bring it on you scaly Bandersnatch in your sewers! The Mad Hatter was no longer fearful, no longer weak! He had his Alice and she missed him so much and she cannot be happy WITHOUT HAVING HIM NEAR! Hatter wrapped his arms around her, planting a tender kiss on her cheek as they stood there together.
Soon Hatter spoke, a tender tone to his voice. "Come my sweet Alice, let us retreat from this horribly harbour and return to our little nest of peace, quiet and tea. We have a lot to celebrate, and the night is not over yet.." He then leaned in, planting another kiss on her lips, holding her closely against him before moving out of the hug, keeping a good hold of her hand before leading her along, back to his home.

Gently she chuckles, seeing how he suddenly became so happy, that it seemed like he would fly away any moment, and by good she could swear that it seemed like he grew some inches. It was soothing to see how only her words, could make such a beautiful person like him happy. How special she felt, and so loved as he hugged her with such tenderness. It was hard to see how something so dangerous, could feel so absolutely right.
A slightly shy smile came upon her lips, as he kissed her cheek. And before she should reply him, she were sharing the taste of tea left on his lips. Her heart happily started racing, seeking to find its way out of her chest. But all to soon he moved away, leaving her lips to chase his for a second, but they didn't catch up.
As if she had just experiences the most enchanting fairytale, she stood awestruck. "yes tea" was all she managed to utter, and let herself be dragged along. For a while she was just dragged along, but as she finally broke free from the spell thrown over her. She stopped and tugged him gently, pulling him close and gently pressing her lips against his, digging her hands into his hair, moving the hat a little, leaving her better space.

Everything was going right, going straight and going in the correct direction! He had his Alice, she was right there in his hand, and he fully intended to keep her. Never going to give her up, never going to let her down, never going to desert her, never going to make her cry, never going to say goodbye, never going to hurt her, She was his Alice, his wonderful, lovely Alice. He had finally found her and he was never ever gonna let her go.
He then blinked as she stopped, turning around towards her, raising his brow in confusion at her actions. She then pulled him close, his eyes widening as she kissed him, her lips gently pressing against his own, her fingers tangling in his hair as his hat was tilted. “Mmpfh?!” was all the Hatter could utter before returning the kiss as his world exploded. She had kissed him! Alice never initiated the kiss before this!! But she did now! Alice really did care, she was right there she kissed him and they were just standing there and she wanted this and she was doing it and willingly and it was really Alice!
As they kissed, Hatter's own hands moved, one placing itself on her lower back while the other's fingers ran through her hair, gently caressing her as they kissed, the Hatter more than a little reluctant to end the kiss, though he had to for breath. He then smiled at her as he looked into her eyes. “Alice..my Alice..” he said, his voice filled with care and adoration as he leaned in, kissing her again. Hatter proceeded to continue the kiss, only ending it to breathe before initiating a new one. After a long time he ended the kiss, smiling, slightly flustered. “Come my Alice..we will have more..than enough time when we get to my..OUR lovely home” He said, petting her cheek before he lead her the rest of the way, stepping inside the large, abandoned building he called his home.

Once again, his reaction made her happier than what should be possible. This odd feeling of having someone care so much for you, and for what you did, was more pleasing than what could be described with any words. Once more she was called to, in that tone of complete love. She was special, even if she wasn't Alice. For now however, she would be Alice as much as she could, thus returning his kisses with just as much care as him. Little sparkles flew around inside her, and her knees felt like jelly, this was without a doubt what love should feel like.
Still entangled in feelings his touch brought , she followed him hoping that she could feel more of him.
She looked around the abandoned building, then looked down at Hatter, smiling warmly. "It is lovely Hatter" she said, tangling her fingers into his. Gently she pulled him with her further into the building, exploring it a little, but not wanting to let him go. It was mostly like a rundown theatre scene, the furniture used, things broken, and everything covered in dust.... A wonderland somehow fitting the exterior of Hatters look, perhaps even his interior. In its own way, it is beautiful, at least to her it was.
She turned to look at him, smiling brightly, before pulling his hand to her lips, and kissing it. "You spoil me too much" She said in a giggle, and kissed him deeply on the lips, her hands seeking a stronghold under his coat and around his waist. Her tongue slid over his lips teasingly, before she let go of him and snatched his hat. "Catch me if you can" She said with warmth in her voice, running to the other side of the table, putting on the hat proudly. "Alice has a present for the winner"
